Installation and description
How to install the Smooth Idler:
The Smooth Idler should be on the outer side to press the smooth surface of the belt and always closer to the pulley that has a smaller diameter
How to install the Toothed Idler:
The Toothed Idler should be on the inner side to press the toothed surface of the belt and always closer to the pulley that has a bigger diameter
Description
In a toothed belt system, often a Idler pulley is used on the opposing or same side (Smooth Idler is used from opposite belt side while Toothed Idler is used from same belt side) of the belt to create tension to ensure the belt never skips a tooth. These smooth GT2 Idler pulleys are ideal for this application and feature integrated bearings.
Our Idler pulleys are standard pulleys with an integrated bearing. This allows them to spin freely without impeding the rotation in your system.
