HGR Linear Guideways

The HG series linear guideways are designed with load capacity and rigidity higher than other similar products with circular-arc groove and structure optimization. It features equal load ratings in the radial, reverse radial and lateral directions, and self-aligning to absorb installation-error. Thus, the HG series linear guideways can achieve a long life with high speed, high accuracy and smooth linear motion.

Description

  Details

Linear Guideways provides linear motion by re-circulating rolling elements between a profiled rail and a bearing block. The coefficient of friction on a linear guideway is only 1/50 compared to a traditional slide and they are able to take loads in all directions. With these features, a linear guideway can achieve high precision and greatly enhanced moving accuracy.

  Cutting options

Cutting Options Explained

We offer different cutting options for HGR linear guide rails depending on your application requirements.

 Standard Cutting (Free of Charge)

By default, rails are cut to maximize material utilization and minimize waste.

  • Cutting position is determined based on the existing hole pattern
  • The rail is cut as close as possible to the nearest mounting hole
  • End distances (L1 and L2) may vary

⚠️ Important:
Rails of the same length may not have identical hole positions from the ends.

This option is recommended when precise hole positioning is not critical.

Cutting tollerances +-1mm and hole positions tollerances -+2mm

Symmetrical Cutting (L1 = L2) (+3.20 €)

Both ends of the rail will have equal distance to the first mounting hole.

  • Ensures symmetrical hole layout
  • Suitable for applications requiring visual or mechanical symmetry
  • Requires removal of one hole segment (60–80 mm), which is charged as waste

Cutting from One End (L1 Defined) (+3.20 €)

You define the exact distance L1 from one end of the rail to the center of the first mounting hole.

  • The hole pattern is aligned based on your specified L1 value
  • The opposite end (L2) will be determined automatically
  • Suitable when aligning with existing mounting holes or machine components

How to Use the HGR Hole Simulator

This tool helps you visualize mounting hole positions before cutting the linear guide.

Steps:
Select the rail type (HGR15, HGR20, HGR25, HGR30)
Enter the total rail length

Choose:
Symmetric – holes are evenly distributed
Manual L1 – manually set the distance to the first hole

What it shows:
Position of the first (L1) and last (L2) hole
Visual layout of holes for Allen (hex socket) screws
Accurate spacing relative to the rail edges

Why it matters:
This visual preview allows you to:
see if a hole is too close to the edge
check if cutting the rail would intersect a hole
confirm that the layout is safe before machining

Use this tool to avoid mistakes and ensure proper hole positioning before cutting.

High Accuracy
Because linear guide has little friction resistance, only a small driving force is needed to move the load. Low frictional resistance helps the temperature rising effect be small. Thus, the frictional resistance is decreased and the accuracy could be maintained for long period than traditional slide system.

High Rigidity
The design of Linear Guide rail and block features an equal lead rating in all four directions that request sufficient rigidity load in all directions, and self-aligning capability to absorb installation-error. Moreover, a sufficient preload can be achieved to increase rigidity and makes it suitable for any kind of installation.

Easy for Maintenance
Compared with high-skill required scrapping process of traditional slide system, the Linear Guide can offer high precision even if the mounting surface is machined by milling or grinding. Moreover the interchangeability of Linear Guide gives a convenience for installation and future maintenance.

High Speed
Linear Guide block, rail and ball apply by contact point of Rolling system. Due to the characteristic of low frictional resistance, the required driving force is much lower than that in other systems, thus the power consumption is small. Moreover, the temperature rising effect is small even under high speed operation.

High Performance without Clearance
Even under a preload or regular load, the ball and raceway contact one another at two points in the loading direction, as shown. This design gives rise to a smooth rolling motion.
