SBR Linear Rail (Supported Round Rail) – Aluminum Base
SBR linear rails are supported round shaft guides designed for precise and stable linear motion. The hardened steel shaft is mounted on a rigid aluminum base, significantly increasing load capacity and reducing deflection compared to unsupported shafts. This makes them suitable for applications requiring longer spans and consistent accuracy.
The system is designed to work with SBRUU linear bearing blocks, providing smooth, low-friction movement and reliable performance in both hobby and industrial environments.
Applications
- CNC machines (routers, woodworking, plasma)
Particularly suitable for machines operating in dusty environments (woodworking, MDF, plastics), where profile rails may require more protection. - Automation and linear motion systems
Ideal for pick-and-place units, sliding platforms, actuators, and other automated movement systems. - 3D printers and engraving machines
Used in larger or custom-built machines where additional rigidity is needed compared to standard rod systems. - Industrial equipment and machinery
Applied in packaging machines, assembly lines, and transport systems where reliable linear guidance is essential. - DIY and custom engineering projects
Frequently used in custom builds due to simple installation, availability, and compatibility with standard linear bearings.
Key Features
- Supported shaft construction
The steel shaft is fully supported along its length by an aluminum base, minimizing bending and vibration, especially under load or during high-speed movement. - Improved rigidity and load capacity
Compared to unsupported round rails, SBR rails handle higher loads and maintain better alignment over longer distances, which is critical for precision applications. - Aluminum support base
Lightweight yet rigid structure allows easy mounting to machine frames while maintaining dimensional stability. - Pre-machined mounting holes
Standardized hole pattern enables fast installation and easy integration into new or existing systems. - Smooth linear motion
Designed for use with SBRUU bearing blocks, ensuring stable movement with reduced friction and consistent performance over time. - Better tolerance to dirty environments
Due to their open design and simpler geometry, SBR rails are more suitable for environments with dust, chips, wood particles, or other contaminants, compared to profile linear guides (e.g. HGR). They are easier to clean and less sensitive to contamination. - Wide size range
Available in multiple shaft diameters (Ø16, Ø20, Ø25, Ø30, Ø40 mm), allowing selection based on load requirements and application size. - Hardened steel shaft
Ground and surface-treated shaft ensures durability and resistance to wear during continuous operation.
