Description
SHAC GHR Linear Guide Rail — Heavy-Duty Profile Rail for GHH and GHW Blocks
One rail platform. Two block formats. Verified SHAC–HIWIN compatibility.
The SHAC GHR Linear Guide Rail is the precision profile rail used with SHAC GH Series recirculating-ball carriages in CNC routers, milling machines, machine tools, gantry systems and industrial automation. It forms a rigid, low-friction linear-motion system when paired with the corresponding GHH-CA square-body block or GHW-CC flanged block. The circular-arc raceway and 45-degree contact geometry support smooth travel, self-aligning capability and equal load capacity in the radial, reverse-radial and both lateral directions.
Vallder offers the commonly used GHR15, GHR20, GHR25 and GHR30 rail sizes on this product page. Select the rail according to the nominal size of the block: GHR15 for size 15 blocks, GHR20 for size 20 blocks, GHR25 for size 25 blocks and GHR30 for size 30 blocks. Additional SHAC GHR Series sizes and configurations may be available by request.

Cutting options
Cutting Options Explained
We offer different cutting options for SHAC GHR linear guide rails depending on your application requirements.
Standard Cutting (Free of Charge)
By default, rails are cut to maximize material utilization and minimize waste.
- Cutting position is determined based on the existing hole pattern
- The rail is cut as close as possible to the nearest mounting hole
- End distances (L1 and L2) may vary
⚠️ Important:
Rails of the same length may not have identical hole positions from the ends.
This option is recommended when precise hole positioning is not critical.
Cutting tollerances +-1mm and hole positions tollerances -+2mm
How to Use the HGR Hole Simulator
This tool helps you visualize mounting hole positions before cutting the linear guide.
Note: The calculator uses HIWIN HGR nomenclature. Match rails by size: HGR20 corresponds to SHAC GHR20.
Steps:
Select the rail type (HGR15, HGR20, HGR25, HGR30)
Enter the total rail length
Choose:
Symmetric – holes are evenly distributed
Manual L1 – manually set the distance to the first hole
What it shows:
Position of the first (L1) and last (L2) hole
Visual layout of holes for Allen (hex socket) screws
Accurate spacing relative to the rail edges
Why it matters:
This visual preview allows you to:
see if a hole is too close to the edge
check if cutting the rail would intersect a hole
confirm that the layout is safe before machining
Use this tool to avoid mistakes and ensure proper hole positioning before cutting.
Key Features and Applications
Key Features:
- Heavy-duty GHR profile:
Designed as the common rail platform for SHAC GHH-CA square blocks and GHW-CC flanged blocks. - Four-direction load system:
When paired with a matching GHR block, the four-row ball arrangement supports radial, reverse-radial and both lateral loads. - Smooth and accurate travel:
Precision-controlled raceway geometry supports low-friction movement, repeatable positioning and stable operation. - Self-aligning contact geometry:
The circular-arc raceway with 45-degree contact points helps absorb minor installation-surface deviations. - Flexible block selection:
Use compact GHH blocks where mounting width is limited or flanged GHW blocks where a broader mounting platform is preferred.
Application:
Suitable for CNC routers, milling machines, engraving systems, laser and plasma equipment, machine tools, gantry axes, pick-and-place systems, measuring stages and industrial positioning assemblies requiring rigid and repeatable linear movement.
Compatible SHAC GHH and GHW Blocks
The SHAC GHR rail provides one standard rail platform for two carriage formats:
- SHAC GHH-CA Linear Blocks:
Compact square-body, non-flanged carriages for installations with limited mounting width. - SHAC GHW-CC Linear Blocks:
Wide-body flanged carriages with a broader mounting footprint and flexible top-mount fixing.
Size matching:
The nominal rail and block size must match. Examples: GHH20CA and GHW20CC use a GHR20 rail; GHH30CA and GHW30CC use a GHR30 rail.
SHAC–HIWIN Series Compatibility
SHAC has confirmed to Vallder that the GHR Series rail and block geometry is interchangeable with the corresponding HIWIN HG Series, and Vallder has verified this compatibility in practice. Components of the same nominal size can therefore be combined in both directions:
- SHAC GHR rail series ↔ HIWIN HGR rail series
- SHAC GHH-CA block series ↔ HIWIN HGH-CA block series
- SHAC GHW-CC block series ↔ HIWIN HGW-CC block series
- SHAC GHH-CA and GHW-CC blocks can run on corresponding HIWIN HGR rails.
- HIWIN HGH-CA and HGW-CC blocks can run on corresponding SHAC GHR rails.
Compatibility note:
Always match the nominal size and verify the required accuracy class, preload, sealing arrangement and lubrication specification for the application. Mechanical interchangeability does not mean that load ratings or factory configuration codes are identical between manufacturers.
Selection and Installation Notes
- Choose the rail size first:
Match GHR15, GHR20, GHR25 or GHR30 to the corresponding block size and machine mounting envelope. - Specify the required length:
Confirm travel, end allowance, mounting-hole positions and machine-base dimensions before ordering. - Use suitable lubrication:
Lubrication is supplied through the installed block; follow the block manufacturer’s lubrication and maintenance requirements. - Prepare a stable mounting surface:
Rail alignment and base-surface quality directly influence running accuracy, smoothness and service life.
⚠️ Vallder Ltd directly imports original SHAC linear motion components and supports customers with rail sizing, block selection, replacement identification and SHAC–HIWIN compatibility checks. Avoid unbranded or off-spec rails that may use different raceway tolerances, hardness, hole pitch or accuracy classes.
FAQ frequently asked questions
Which SHAC blocks are compatible with the GHR rail?
The SHAC GHR rail is used with corresponding GHH-CA square-body blocks and GHW-CC flanged blocks. The nominal size must match, such as a GHR20 rail with a GHH20CA or GHW20CC block.
Is the SHAC GHR rail interchangeable with HIWIN components?
Yes. SHAC has confirmed, and Vallder has verified, that corresponding SHAC GHR and HIWIN HG Series components are mechanically interchangeable when the nominal size matches. SHAC GHR rails correspond to HIWIN HGR rails.
Can I use a SHAC block on a HIWIN rail?
Yes. A corresponding SHAC GHH-CA or GHW-CC block can run on a HIWIN HGR rail of the same nominal size, subject to the required accuracy, preload, sealing and lubrication configuration.
Can I use a HIWIN block on a SHAC rail?
Yes. Corresponding HIWIN HGH-CA and HGW-CC blocks can run on a SHAC GHR rail of the same nominal size, with the application specifications correctly matched.
Are linear guide blocks included with the rail?
No. This product listing is for the SHAC GHR linear guide rail. GHH and GHW linear blocks are selected and ordered separately.
How do I select the correct GHR rail size?
Match the rail to the nominal size of the required block and verify the machine mounting dimensions, axis load, moment loads, travel length and accuracy requirements.
